Hebrews 13:8
We are associated with the Foursquare Family of Churches in GB
We are located in Bethnal Green near Stepney Green Tube station, Tower Hamlets in the East End of London, UK
We previously led the Bridgeway Foursquare Church (East) that grew out of Bridgeway Fellowship (originally Hosanna), the First Foursquare Church of the City of London, a work started by Jean Darnall. The work of Bridgeway continues in our sister church that meets in Fulham (Bridgeway West) led by Anne Colson. Why Tower? and why Foursquare? - see http://www.pastorjohnmark.org/www/welcome
We understand that people today don't like to be told what to do or what to believe. Yet people are looking for something to believe in, something to belong to, something that will achieve. There are several good churches in Tower Hamlets and exploring exciting new ways of being and doing 'church. Our heart is the Foursquare family and message which includes the enigmatic but strong dedication to 'interdenominational, international evangelism'.
What do you look for in a church? What do you want it to include? What do you want it not to do? Whilst the church isn't a democracy, it consists of believers who are filled with the Spirit, a Spirit of Love, Power and sound thinking. God speaks to us all, in many different ways and we are each given part of the jig saw puzzle. It is when communicate those individual pieces with each other that we can start to see the full picture of what God is doing in the places we live and work. What is God saying to you? We'd love to hear about it, especially if you live or work in East London.
One of the ways to 'walk in the Spirit' is to consciously be listening for God's encouraging words as we do our everyday work and rest - listening to the whispers. The Twitter social networking site asks simply the question 'What are you doing?' You may think some of it is irrelevant (or even irreverent) but it's a great way of staying in touch with colleagues, friends and fellow church members. There are many inspiring christian tweeters - perhaps not as significant as the 'whispers of Jesus' but giving food for thought. Try it and see. Why don't you visit us on Twitter
